Bruins' captain and star Patrice Bergeron denied a big rumour about him

It was a bit surprising to read that.
Yesterday, a rumour was thrown out about Patrice Bergeron's responsibility in Bruce Cassidy's dismissal. He would have said to Bruins' GM Don Sweeney that if Cassidy wasn't fired, he would have signed with another team this summer.
Bergeron addressed this rumour and said that it was absolutely false.
"It's completely unfounded, so I won't put any energy into it. It's a waste of time and it's really stupid speculation," said Bergeron.
Patrice Bergeron has always been seen as a great leader so it would have been very strange if this rumour was indeed true. The Bruins' captain has not made a decision yet on his future. Last season, he registered 65 points in 73 games.
