John Tortorella doesn't mince words at all about his situation and it's been telling how the medical situation in Philadelphia has been handled.

There have been reports of issues with the medical staff in the Philadelphia locker room that have raised multiple red flags.
Now there seems to be another confirmation with another player speaking out on the issue.

For Multi-Millionaire athletes, their bodies are their money-makers and Cam Atkinson is no different. It is telling that after all the issues that have been reported recently, he sought care elsewhere in Columbus, OH where he spent the majority of his NHL career.
This paints a terrible picture for the Medical Staff in Philadelphia that he couldn't trust them with a diagnosis.
Cam Atkinson: "Yeah, where do I start?"
He had a lot of MRIs, some misdiagnoses, before finally being told he had a herniated disc. Didn't want surgery, so he went to Columbus to see people he could trust. Finally decided on surgery.

After Jack Eichel's situation, it's brought to light that the NHLPA and even the players are finally starting to advocate for themselves, which is a labor issue.
Perhaps Comcast or Danny Briere can bring in people who the players can trust?
Regardless, even in workers-compensation claims, you're allowed to use your own doctors instead of the companies and this seems like players need to remember the value of a 2nd opinion, if your gut is telling them otherwise.
It's a good sign that Tortorella isn't having any of it either, but it's still recent enough that it may have set the team back for some time, especially if Cam's had some of the same issues as other players have with the team doctors.
