No matter which club you support, everyone in the hockey world must feel bad for John Carlson of the Washington Capitals.
On December 23, Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brendan Dillion struck Carlson in the face, causing him to start bleeding all over the ice.
Peter Laviolette, the head coach of the Washington Capitals, stated a few days later that John Carlson was "doing okay" while still being listed as injured on December 27.

The writer wrote that the Capitals are ''hoping'' to have Carlson back with the team before the players start, which is in April, four months away. On a positive note Nicklas Backstrom and enforcer Tom Wilson are ready to return, and it'll be official once John Carlson has been played on IR. It appears as if Carlson will require facial-reconstruction surgery.
The Capitals may be in search for a new defensemen many think, keep an eye out on that.
