Yesterday, Montreal Canadiens' GM Kent Hughes pulled the trigger and sent defenseman Ben Chiarot for a 1st round pick in 2023, prospect Ty Smilanic and a 4th round pick in 2022.
And to be honest, the Panthers gave a lot to acquire Chiarot, which could give us an idea on what Chuck Fletcher could get for Justin Braun. The objective of Flyers' GM is to get a 2nd round pick for his defenseman, but could he acquire more?
For the moment, the focus is on Mark Giordano and Hampus Lindholm. But when we are going to get closer to the trade deadline, teams that didn't succeed to acquire one of those two players are possibly going to be forced to overpay for players like Justin Braun and Calvin de Haan.
Obviously, Braun is a player that can pretty much play on the three pairs on defense and his experience could be very valuable to a team.
