Chuck Fletcher's fate is sealed

After last night's loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, Chuck Fletcher and the Flyers have essentially sealed their fate. They will draft top 5 (most probably).

With just two games to go and some little glimpses of hope by these young guns, you'll be pleased to know that the Flyers are almost certainly drafting 2-5 and have a good shot at that lottery pick.

With new rules saying that a team cannot win the lottery two times in a five year window, it might be a good thing we don't go first.

"Flyers finally lose by a 3-1 score. They're now almost certainly locked into being somewhere in the 3rd to 5th worst record in hockey, giving them the 3rd-5th best lottery odds."

As of right now, the Habs have the highest odds at the number one pick with 25.5% while the Flyers have a 9.5% chance.

A team can also only jump a maximum of 10 spots. If memory serves me right, the Rangers jumped from the 14th highest odds to draft number 1 in 2020, taking Alexis Lafreniere.
