Obviously, Chuck Fletcher isn't the only GM that wants to acquire some valuable assets to make his team competitive this summer. Some GM's know that their organization have to take a big step forward during the offseason.

And it's notably the case of Tom Fitzgerald, the New Jersey Devils GM. His team finished 7th in the Metropolitan Division with a 27-46-9 record. As a reminder, the Devils made the Playoffs one time since the 2017-18 season.
Fitzgerald is ready to do whatever he can to improve his team.
"I said this two drafts ago (2020), when we had the three first-round picks, I'm open to whatever can help our team improve (...) If that is using a pick like that, wherever it may be, to help bring in a player that we know, and feel, will help impact the results that we are looking for, absolutely," said Fitzgerald.

The Devils have some good pieces to build around like Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier and Dougie Hamilton. The big question for them is the following : can Mackenzie Blackwood play like he did before this year?

Let's see what they can do this summer.
