So, why hasn't defenseman Jakob Chychrun been traded yet? The most logical response is the asking price demanded by Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong. Many teams just don't want to commit to losing two first round picks, plus a prospect or young NHL player to acquire him.
The other factor is he has been injured quite a bit, which always seems to put up the caution flag to complete a deal until the player gets back into action.
Chychrun has recovered from his injuries and has played two games thus far collecting 10 shots and 21:48 of ice time. He also added an assist in the Coyotes 4-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes last night.
In comparing the asking price for a team to add Chychrun to their roster, hockey insider Pierre LeBrun made the point of past trades and the return price that was paid on TSN's Insider Trading.

Lebrun has a point that Anaheim got a first-rounder, plus two second-rounders in the deal for
Hampus Lindholm. Then, Chicago received two first-rounders when they traded
Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
It seems more than justified now that Chychrun is healthy again to meet Armstrong's trade demands.
At this point, we need to wait and see what actually happens. One thing is certain, there are a list of teams interested in him and it boils down to how desperate they get before pulling the trigger on a deal.
All the other factors seem to be aligning. The player wants out, and the team is doing their due diligence to make it happen.
Here's some of the fans' comments pertaining to the trade comparisons regarding a possible return to Arizona.
"This is why nobody should be trading for him. He's not worth that asking price."
"Better than Hagel and Lindholm. Coyotes have all the right to value him this way."
"He'll fetch something similar if he plays well back from injury and not until the deadline."
