We are now in the month of August and there's still some very good players that are still available on the free agent market. Including former Arizona Coyotes forward Phil Kessel. The 34 year old is still a very good player despite a slite decline. However Kessel could be picked up fairly soon sources say.
According to Jeff Marek on the 32 podcasts, Marek would reveal a possible deal between Kessel and the Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland. The Oilers feel they are close to being a championship team and adding a Phil Kessel to your lineup definitely wouldn't hurt your chances.
"He'd score there, there's no denying that," he said, pointing out Kessel was in a difficult spot with the Arizona Coyotes last season. Kessel has also won the Stanley Cup twice with the Pittsburgh so he can provide that experience.
