Coyotes Exposed for Embarrassing Statistic
As you may know, the Coyotes are currently playing in Mullett Arena. The arena is home to the Arizona State University hockey teams and is located on their campus.
The arena seats just 5,000 people and doesn't even really have a 2nd level, besides some elevated suites.
Well, some stats were released about team attendances, and you'll just have to take a look for yourself.
Must read on FlyersInsider
Obviously the Coyotes would be in last with a capacity of just 5,000 seats, but it is comical that they aren't even selling out their stadium. In all honesty having 800 open seats in a 5,000 seat arena is pathetic for a professional hockey team.
It doesn't seem like the Coyotes are leaving Arizona anytime soon, so they better find a way to get some fans to the game.
What also is weird is the average league attendance in general. In the past there used to be multiple teams who would be at, or over, the listed capacity. Now, there are just a couple teams over the max capacity limit.
Detroit is in the top 10 and not even getting 90% of their seats filled each game.
Just a strange trend in general.
