Danny Briere Officially Announces His First Roster Move as a General Manager
Flyers fans got their New Years wish nearly four months too late, and that was general manager Chuck Fletcher finally being fired. It was reported by Sportsnet's Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman that they planned to fire Fletcher prior to the NHL's trade deadline but hesitated to do so.
Since Chuck Fletcher has been fired the organization must have had a intern general manager ready to go, and in this case it was Danny Briere.
Briere announced his first roster move today, sending down some of the Philadelphia Flyers' top prospects, which may be a real good thing.
First official transaction made by the Interim General Manager Danny Briere:
Elliot Desnoyers and Tyson Foerster have been loaned back to Lehigh. No surprise
They should be made available to play today.
