In a recent interview on 975JKShow, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Briere expressed his thoughts on the team's past management and ownership, highlighting a lack of emphasis on player development.

Briere mentioned that instead of focusing on nurturing young talent, the Flyers relied heavily on acquiring free agents and older players in an attempt to achieve immediate success.
«For years- there wasn't a lot of development. We did a lot of patchwork, we got a lot of free agents, older guys, and we tried to go for it. And I felt there was a team that was kind of always stuck in the middle.»
He further stated that this approach resulted in the team being stuck in a perpetual state of mediocrity, unable to fully commit to a long-term plan. Briere's comments shed light on the challenges faced by the Flyers during that period.
