Danny Briere and the Philadelphia Flyers will be feeling very generous with their ability to help teams with their salary cap problems.

Briere seems to be exploring options for acquiring dead cap, bad contracts, and other options to help their fellow teams.
«I've had discussions with multiple teams, indicating our willingness to facilitate cap relief in exchange for promising prospects,» Briere stated. «We are in a position to help other teams while addressing our long-term goals. It's a collaborative effort, and time will reveal the outcomes.»

On TSN 1200, Briere discussed being proactive with the salary cap and helping those with problems and hopefully in return they will provide the Flyers with assets or prospects.

With past trades, the Flyers have already demonstrated their willingness to accept bad contracts, such as the Ivan Provorov trade, in which the team acquired a first-round pick and two second-round picks for Provorov, Kevin Connauton, and Hayden Hodgson. As well as securing Cal Petersen's $5 million contract, Philadelphia is showing how they can absorb cap pressure by working with others.
It is Briere's nature to think outside the box, and he is willing to assist a team as long as the team reciprocates. As the Flyers face the trade deadline and injuries mount, this could be a significant period for Briere to reshape the team the way he sees fit.
