With the NHL preseason closing , head coaches and general managers are getting together to discuss their assembled teams, including their prospects, and make the necessary decisions to round out the roster for game one of the regular season.

Head coach John Tortorella has been sitting in the press box for the past four games with general manager Danny Briere as both men watch their team and evaluate who will stay and who will go. As expected, decisions will not come easy as some players are trying to make a case to stay with the Flyers this season.
The Flyers beat the Bruins last night 3 to 1, and this time Torts was on the bench. He briefly gave his evaluation over the past four games and explained how he felt the roster was shaping up.

"I think in my mind right now, it'll be close to our lineup," Tortorella said. "Danny and I, it's tough talking right after a game. We're going to talk tomorrow. We've had great conversations as far as what he needs for the future, just to see guys. We'll have that conversation. If he needs to see some players before we decide on them, they'll go in. But I think we both are thinking it'll be pretty close to what we feel our lineup will be. Maybe one or two spots will be different in that aspect."

One player, in particular, that has caught the eye of both GM and coach is Bobby Brink. He has had a strong camp and is making the case for a full-time job with the Flyers this season. Torts weighed in on what he saw with Brink's game.
"He made a ton of plays tonight," Tortorella said. "The puck follows him around. You can see he's looking for that next play. I think he has that innate ability that you can't teach to see the next play. He continues to impress."

Tyson Foerster, on the other hand, has not had as strong camp but looked better today, especially when he played 5 on 5. As both players try to prove they belong, this bodes well for the Flyers as they continue to evaluate what they have in this rebuilding phase.
With one game remaining, the Flyers feel their roster is coming into view, and by Thursday, it would be a preview of what the opening lineup will look like.
They will be playing at home against the Islanders on Thursday, which will be a 7:00 PM start, and they will begin their season on the road against the Columbus Blue Jackets, where former Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov will get to reunite with his former teammates as their opponent.
