The life of an NHL rookie involves constant gym workouts, attentive listening to the coaching staff for constructive criticism and improvement strategies, and an ongoing commitment to honing their skills.

Many players who have been deemed smaller than ideal often focus on bulking up during the summer months to stand out and make a difference when training camp arrives.
The Philadelphia Flyers, currently in training camp, are considering several players who might make the team this year. Numerous players believe they are prepared to leap into the NHL and are eager to embrace the challenge.
Egor Zamula, an undrafted player currently with the Flyers, spoke to the media today and stated that he feels ready to become an NHL regular. During the summer, he gained 20 pounds of muscle, increasing his weight from 180 to 200 pounds. This transformation will be particularly advantageous for his defensive game, especially if he adopts a more aggressive playing style.

However, head coach John Tortorella expressed a different perspective upon hearing about several players who believe they will secure regular spots this year.
Tortorella is a dedicated teacher of the game, and earning his trust and playing time requires strict adherence to his rules and his vision for the game's style of play. His messaging is clear: Zamula and others will need to earn their spots rather than having them handed to them.
The Flyers' next preseason game is scheduled for today, September 29th, against the Boston Bruins on the road. The game is set to begin at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
