Vancouver Canucks fan's got some great news last night when the news broke that the Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin re-signd forward JT Miller to a new a $56 million dollar contract extension.

Canucks fans were concerned with all the speculation that Miller was going to be traded at some time as he was going to be a unrestricted free agent at season's end, but not any more. At 29 years-old Miller with this new deal will likely retire a Vancouver Canuck.
Miller's contract isn't just simply a annual salary part of it will come in the terms on signing bonuses. According to Puck Empire, over 20 million of Miller's 56 million dollar deal comes in the form of signing bonuses, which are usually due on the first day of free agency each off-season.

Miller's Agent Brian Bartlett would comment after the deal saying:
J.T. is absolutely ecstatic,» Bartlett told Sportsnet. «If nothing else, J.T. is a competitor and he wants to win. And he feels like this gives him a great chance to win a Stanley Cup before his career is over. He loves Vancouver and is excited to be there for the rest of his career.

«This is what he wanted. He loves the guys, loves the city. Fifty-six million for a 30-year-old is great. But when you step back and look at the market, he left at least a little money on the table. Vancouver is where he wanted to be."
