There's been growing trend that should be a cause for concern in the NHL right now. That is players walking out on the NHL to head overseas to play in Sweden, Finland and other parts of Europe.
Many fans blame NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman due to the way contracts are structured now players have more power then ever to the point we're seeing players become unrestricted free agents younger and younger.
We have seen a total of seven players this off-season decide to play elsewhere now including Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Alex D'Orio who's the latest as he signed with IF Bjorkloven of the second-tier Swedish league.
D'Orio was just 23 year-old with the Pittsburgh Penguins AHL affiliate last season.
