Emergency backup steals show in Dallas

Last night's game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Dallas stars turned into some lighthearted fun after Anaheim had to rely on the EBUG or Emergency Backup Goalie to start the third in a 2-2 game.

Thomas Hodges was forced into action to start the third for the Ducks after Gibson left after the first and Stolarz in the second.

Born in Shewsbury Great Britain Hodges moved to the States at a young age due to his father's work. He's been in Texas since he was 12 and what was supposed to be a 2 year stay ended up being permanent.

"It was probably about as nervous as I've ever been."

He previously played one game or rather a few minutes of ECHL. Jokingly adding he might have led the league in GAA that season.

"I've got a normal staff pass and on normal nights my gear is just kept in my car. It's a little bit of a jog from the car to the locker rooms."

Oh and by the way, Hodges is blind in his left eye due to an accident but still found a way to make it to the NHL.
