Former Flyer Nicholas Aube-Kubel begins his Washington Capitals debut with a thunderous hit on Evander Kane tonight.

NAK was a second-round draft pick 48th overall in the 2014 draft, has been through his share of teams over the last two years. He had a stopover in Colorado after being picked up on waivers on November 12, 2021. After the magical season and Stanley Cup run, NAK became famous for the player who was the fastest to dent and damage the Stanley Cup while skating for the team photo.
In this past offseason, he was signed to a one-year contract worth $1,000,000 by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He had a tough time cracking their lineup and he managed only to play six games and had no points and four penalty minutes. The Maple Leafs placed him on waivers on November 4th, 2022 and he was claimed by the Washington Capitals the next day.

His NHL career totals thus far he has played 175 games 21 goals, 29 assists, 50 points and PIM 114.
Quite the journey I have to say, if he ever gets a chance to hoist the Stanley Cup again hopefully next time around, he'll be a little more careful.
