Adidas has been the maker of the NHL on-ice and retail authentic jerseys since 2017-2018, but will be phased out after 2023-2024. Fans and collectors have long complained about the limited availability of on-ice jerseys, which are more expensive than the Fanatics breakaways that are lower in quality.

But there's a silver lining in the horizon - Fanatics will take over in 2024. According to Ali Murji's tweet, Fanatics will manufacture more in Canada and bring experienced product people onboard, some of whom have worked on NHL jerseys since the CCM days.
SP Uniforms, the current Adidas on-ice jersey maker, will manufacture the Fanatics retail authentic jerseys. These will also be Made-In-Canada, a feature usually reserved for the pricier Adidas jerseys.
This is good news for fans who have been waiting for higher-quality retail products since Reebok took over with the Indo-Edge line. Though pricing information hasn't been revealed yet, the commitment to providing better-quality retail products than Adidas currently does is encouraging for all fans.
