The Flyers were faced with an interesting challenge. They played at Amalie Arena facing a Tampa Bay Lightning team that has been flailing recently and been a team of five straight losses.

Tampa's problems reached a boiling point recently when head coach Jon Cooper decided to bench his best three players for an entire period as they gave their worst performance in the last few years.
The Flyers expected a major pushback from the lightning and lots of physicality in their game. Brandon Hagel decided to display that physicality against Flyers forward Joel Farrebee.

Farebee was attempting to clear the puck out of his zone when Hagel skated straight at him and hit him square causing him to collapse onto the ice. After watching the replay it certainly looked like the hit was questionable, especially with his arms flailing outward after the hit was done.
The good news is that Farabee stayed in the game and doesn't seem to be any worse for wear. no penalty was called on the play.
Unfortunately, the Flyers lost five to two against the lightning and will face the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, March 9th while they continue their road trip. Game time will be at 7:00 PM
