The top 100 current NHL defencemen where ranked based off almost 300,000 fan votes, in a study done by well known hockey analyst JFreshHockey.
This top 100 out of all the d-men in the league is pretty fair, however, the order of the rankings is quite interesting depending who you ask. Along with the top 100 there is actually more. Ranking all 260 defencemen in the National Hockey League
These rankings are also shown from the year prior, statistics are shown that address their plus minus rating along with the players previous ranking. Philadelphia Flyers Travis Sanheim, went from No. 59 in the 2022-23 rankings, down to No. 64 in 2023-24. The Flyers have two d-men in the top 125, the second defencemen being Cam York.
