Tyson Foerster's game was expected to be a continuation of his audition with the Flyers last season, during which he played several games near the end and was a factor in the last eight games, scoring three goals with four assists for seven points and accumulating eight penalty minutes, with a +2 rating.
Head coach John Tortorella, along with his coaching staff and general manager Danny Briere, felt quite pleased with Foerster's performance and expected this level of production to carry over to this season. However, this has not been the case.
Foerster has had a terrible start to his season and looks downright dreadful at times as Tortorella and others try to find him a line that would help him regain his scoring touch.
In the past 14 games, he has only managed three assists with four penalty minutes and is a +3. Many fans have expressed their dissatisfaction on the X platform and other forms of social media, suggesting that it's time for Foerster to head back to Allentown and make a roster spot available for another player to build off their success.

As all NHL fans know, Tortorella is a defensive-first coach, and his philosophy emphasizes that good defence will help produce offence, knowing that the back end is looked after. It seems that Foerster has not been able to adapt his game to that style yet, and his production has collapsed as a result.
Tortorella is trying everything possible to keep Foerster on the roster, even putting him with the best players the Flyers have. However, this strategy does not seem to be working.
It appears rather unfair that
Bobby Brink, who has had a strong start to the season, has been sitting in the press box waiting for a chance to come back into the lineup while Foerster continues to struggle.
