Hockey analyst and insider Chris Johnston recently reported that the NHL plans to raise the cap by one million dollars for the 2022-2023 season.

"Chris Johnston on Insider Trading confirms that the NHL salary cap will jump $1M in 2022-23."
The current cap hit in the NHL is $81,500,000 and the floor is $60,200,000. This means that a team cannot go above $81,500,000 and less than $60,200,000.

The new change will happen as soon as next season and will give some cup contending teams a little more room this offseason.
Teams with zero cap remaining are Vegas, Montreal, Tampa and Edmonton. Teams with lot of cap room are the Sabres and Ducks.
Per Cap Friendly, the Flyers currently have a projected cap space of $288,597. With the departures of Connor Bunnaman and prospect German Rubtsov, the Flyers have more room to add contracts and free agents this summer. They have used up forty five of the fifty allocated contracts per team.
Let's hope they make use of the growing cap space.
