Flames GM Fires Back At After Claims That US Born Players Don't Want To Play In Canada

There's been a disappointing trend going on for along time in the NHL, but has heated up more these past few weeks and that's sources say American born hockey players don't want to play for Canadian markets.

This month alone the Calgary Flames took a one,two Mayweather when Johnny Hockey Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk both left the Calgary Flames. Gaudreau signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets via free agency while Tkachuk would get traded just five days later to the Florida Panthers.

This has to be concerning to Canadian teams going forward will this make them think twice before drafting US born players? The morale in Calgary is obviously down losing these two top guys. There's been sources saying Toronto Maple Leafs super star Auston Matthews will too leave Canada once he's a UFA.

A Us born player that didn't want to be named would go on record saying: "No one wants to play in Canada the Taxes are high, and fans are relentless."
