Fletcher and Tortorella Come Clean on Cam Atkinson's injury
General manager Chuck Fletcher offered his thoughts on the shutdown of Cam Atkinson's season with neck surgery slated for Wednesday. There is a high risk and potential career-ending surgery for Mr. Atkinson, however, Fletcher felt it was the right call to make.
Atkinson has not played one game this season due to this injury and the Flyers had high hopes that he would return to help them with their anemic offense.

After weeks of talk that he might return, and stories of him being cleared to play he was placed back on injured reserve and shut down for the season.
Head coach John Tortorella also expressed his thoughts on Atkinson's injury and upcoming surgery. Torts certainly have high hopes for his return and spoke nothing but praise about his attempts to return to the lineup.
We all certainly have Cam Atkinson in our thoughts, and we wish him good luck on Wednesday along with great health with his recovery and hopeful return to the lineup.
