The Philadelphia Flyers have been in the news a lot lately, after a terrible season, finishing last in the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers will draft 5th overall on July 7th in Montreal. However, the Flyers have been trying to also deal with one of their prospects goalie Ivan Fedotov who's been detained by the Russian government.

Fletcher is also having to worry about the future of defenceman Ivan Provorov after rumors he's planning to return to Russia this summer. Flyers insider Sam Carchidi revealed the following...

"Provorov was in Voorhees last week and was planning to return to Russia at some point this summer. The Flyers defenceman is in a difficult spot, I wonder if the Fedotov situation will alter his plans," wrote Carchidi.

The Flyers are worried that Provorov too would be not allowed to leave Russia also after the NHL has cut ties with Russia over the attack on Ukraine. Provorov is entering his 3rd year of the $40,500,000 million dollar contract he signed that pays him $6.75 million annually.
