During the 2022-2023 season, Jesse Puljujarvi played for the Carolina Hurricanes under the guidance of Rod Brind'Amour.

However, due to his inability to fit into RBA's system and lack of impact in the post-season, the team had to let him go.
Puljujarvi is now a free agent as the team did not offer him a qualifying contract that matched his previous $3 million AAV deal.
The Flyers could potentially acquire him as a reclamation project, which would not affect their rebuilding timeline and could result in a positive outcome if Puljujarvi finds success in the NHL.
