The rebuilding Flyers are currently evaluating their team daily as the organization continues its rebuilding phase and plans out the next direction they would like to take.
Head coach John Tortorella has been seeking ways to coax players into scoring more goals while playing a defensive-style game.
Some of his players have responded well, while others have not. One player, in particular, is Flyers prospect Tyson Foerster. During the 2020 draft, he was selected 23rd overall in the first round, and the Flyers had high hopes that he would become the scoring winger they needed him to be.

During his time with The Phantoms last year, he scored 48 points and was in the American Hockey League All-Star game. There were high hopes that he would translate into many goals, as he scored several in his debut with the Flyers late last season. Unfortunately, that has not transpired this season.
With a measly 2 points through 13 games, Foerster has not lived up to his expectations. Long goal droughts for rookies are not a good sign, especially in their development, and they could erode their confidence quickly, hindering the entire plan.
With recent signs of breaking out of his funk and increasing his shot totals, pushing him to the 7th position throughout the team, it's expected he will begin to score at a good clip. I feel the Flyers should keep him for the remainder of the season and continue to work with him with the best coaches available.
There may be a point in time when the Flyers have to send him back to Allentown if scoring continues to be a problem.
