After the NHL draft concludes, the excitement for all NHL prospects intensifies as they prepare for their development camps, typically held in July. These camps offer a valuable opportunity for players to step onto NHL ice for the first time and showcase their skills, aiming to prove to coaches and management that they have what it takes to earn a spot on the NHL roster for the upcoming season.

The Flyers' development camp is showing promise, with a group of talented prospects filling the ranks. These young players possess impressive skill sets and are ready to compete for coveted spots on the NHL team.
However, amidst the enthusiasm, accidents can happen, and some players may get carried away with their aggressive style of play, leading to unintended injuries to fellow prospects, ranging from minor to potentially more severe depending on the nature of the hit.
During a recent drill at the Flyers' development camp, defenseman prospect Emil Andrae found himself engaged in a battle with Elliot Desnoyers. In an unfortunate turn of events, Andrae checked Desnoyers into the boards from a dangerous position, causing the latter to require assistance as he couldn't put any weight on his right leg.

It's worth noting that this injury was unintentional, but it poses a challenge for the management team and coaches who now have to evaluate their prospects with one player down.
Emil Andrae, a 21-year-old defenseman standing at 5 feet 9 inches and weighing 181 pounds, was drafted in the 2020 NHL draft as the 54th overall pick in the second round. Despite his smaller stature, Andrae plays with a remarkably aggressive style and isn't hesitant to deliver big hits.
While injuries are an unfortunate part of any competitive sport, the Flyers' management and coaching staff will undoubtedly keep a close eye on the situation and continue to assess the prospects' performances during the development camp. As the camp progresses, they hope to see the injured prospects recover swiftly and witness the promising talents of players like
Andrae as they strive for a spot on the NHL roster.
