Flyers Share The Latest On Defenseman Ryan Ellis

Things haven't been going well for Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ryan Ellis. Despite suffering with injures last season Ellis was acquired by the Flyers in a three team trade. Unfortunately Ellis was only able to play in just four games with the Flyers before missing the reminder of the season with injury.

Back in June Ellis would give hope to Flyers fans believing he'd be ready to go by training camp this season. However, in July Ellis revealed the injury to his pelvic region is more complex then he or the team expected.

Now Flyers fans are wondering if Ellis will play this season at all. Flyers Head Coach John Tortorella would give the latest on Ellis' condition.

"I've had several conversations with Ryan Ellis as far as how he's doing," Tortorella said , "That's been an up and down process for him. He's doing everything he possibly can to get ready for camp, [but] I'm doubtful that's going to happen."

Ellis future remains uncertain that caused Chuck Fletcher to acquire defenceman Tony DeAngelo to fill the void left by Ellis.
