Well, it's the first day of the week, and the Flyers are back into action today in an afternoon game against the Carolina Hurricanes at Wells Fargo Center.

Here's everything you need to know !
1. The Flyers are set to face off the Hurricanes today at 3 PM ET. Rasmus Ristolainen and Patrick Brown will be back in the lineup, and Carter Hart should get the start in the net. Yesterday, Derick Brassard, Kevin Hayes and Joel Farabee practiced with no contact jersey. Farabee could be back as soon as Saturday against the Capitals.

The Hurricanes played Sunday at Pittsburgh. They won 4-3, as Sebastian Aho scored the game winning goal in the third period.
The orange and black will look to win for the first time in 20 days, as they lost their last 4 games. During that stretch, the Flyers scored 12 goals and allowed 20.
2. Scott Laughton is the "feel good story" of this sad season. A lot of analysts and fans weren't too happy with the deal he signed in april ($3M x 5 years), but he has proved wrong a lot of them. In the last four seasons, the 27 years old forward registered 96 points at even strength, which is more than players like Anthony Beauvillier, Ryan Hartman and Adam Henrique.
Mike Yeo recently praised his player for the leadership that he shows on and off the ice. Is he captain material? With Giroux soon gone, he could certainly be in the conversation. Young players needs to have somebody on who they can rely on. Scott Laughton is exactly that.
3. Again, an Avalanche scout was at the Lehigh Valley game against Utica on Saturday. We know that there's something going on regarding a possible Claude Giroux trade to Colorado, and this will not help to ease those rumours.
4. Some Flyers prospect had a great weekend. Cam York came back to the lineup with the Phantoms, and even if he didn't put a ton of points (well, actually, he had 0) on the scoreboard, he played well. Same for Tanner Laczynski, who scored the only goal for Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
In the QMJHL, Elliot Desnoyers registered 3 points in 2 games. He has 45 points in 29 games this season. Pretty good for a 5th round pick.
Bobby Brink continued to tear up the NCAA. He is the conversation for the Hobey Baker.
Flyers prospect Ivan Fedotov lost the Gold Medal game against Finland at the Olympics, but his performances were really remarkable during the integrality of the tournament, as his .936 save percentage can show it.
5. This statistic is a stinker. The Flyers are the only team in the NHL without a shootout win this season. But there's even worse : they are 0/16 in shootout attempts this year. Yikes.
