The New Wells Fargo Center is in the final stages of its $400 million privately-funded transformation. The upgrades include three large LED digital boards on the exterior, customizable strut lighting, and three canopies for easier guest entry. These improvements aim to enhance the sports and entertainment experience in Philadelphia.

The three LED digital boards, designed by ANC, will be placed at different corners of the arena and provide over 10,500 square feet of digital screening. Additionally, customizable strut lighting by Jones Sign will illuminate all four corners of the building, allowing for color changes and video displays. The existing LED uplighting on the arena's roof will also be replaced and coordinated with the strut lighting.
Furthermore, three heated canopies at various entrances will lead guests into the arena, featuring audio capabilities and touchless security screening using Evolv Technology. These upgrades will coincide with improvements in parking and entry, aimed at reducing traffic in South Philadelphia.
The New Wells Fargo Center's transformation project has turned the arena into a modern venue and has also attracted renowned Philadelphia restaurant names like Marc Vetri, Jose Garces, and Stephen Starr. It serves as a significant private investment in the Stadium District and contributes to the revitalization of South Philadelphia, including plans for FDR Park, local infrastructure, and redevelopment efforts.
