As the trade deadline approaches, the Flyers prove to be an attractive team to make a deal with for teams who are looking for cheap contracts or are desperate after an injury. Many league scouts were in attendance at the Wells Fargo Center for the Flyers matchup on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche.
According to Jackie Spiegel, there were six teams with scouts in attendance for the Saturday matinee, including team reps on hand. Two of the scouts were from the Calgary Flames.
This comes just less than 50 days before the trade deadline as teams are looking to make last minute additions, or unload any bad contracts or upcoming free agents. The Flyers find themselves in an interesting position as they went into the season expected to be sellers, but now sit in second place in the Metro.
