That's a bummer.
Elliotte Friedman confirmed something that we were all afraid of : the return of the potential Claude Giroux trade. According to the Sportsnet insider, Flyers fans could be underwhelmed by what the team will get for their captain.
"I don't know if it's going to be a whopper of a deal, Jeff, I think that there is a chance that the Flyers fans are going to be underwhelmed by what they get in return, possibly," said Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts.
To be honest, Chuck Fletcher has been put in a really difficult situation. There's only one guy that decides of his destiny, and it's Claude Giroux. If he wants to go to Florida, which seems the case, Fletcher will have no other choice than to accept the Panthers offer, even if it's underwhelming comparing to what the Avalanche could propose.

With that being said, three players from the Panthers organization seems to be right there in the conversation in Owen Tippett, Mackie Samoskevich and Michael Benning.
Benning, but particularly Samoskevich are really good prospects. The latter could end up as a Top-6 player registering between 60 and 70 points at his peek in the NHL. In the case of Tippett, he didn't had a real chance to play regularly in the big league. He could also become a very good second line player.
