We talked a lot about what the Flyers would get in a trade involving Claude Giroux with the Avalanche or the Panthers. According to multiple sources, Florida is still the favourite to land Giroux, but you never know.

It was said recently that the Avalanche offer could actually be the one that Chuck Fletcher likes better. However, Giroux seems to prefer being traded to Florida, and knowing that he has a NMC, he pretty much decides where he'll be traded.
This could mean that Fletcher may have to take less to accommodate his captain.
With that being said, the Flyers' GM will do everything in his power to make the best possible deal, and if Florida is the only team Giroux wants to go to, he'll have to go with what they have to offer. Rumours indicated that Owen Tippett and prospect Mackie Samoskevich were the two players the Panthers were willing to include in the trade.
According to Brandon Sommermann, Michael Benning, a right handed defenseman prospect, is also a name that we should keep an eye on. I talked about him a while ago in this article, feel free to give it a read to know more.
Benning is a teammate of Flyers prospect Bobby Brink with the University of Denver in the NCAA. He was a fourth round pick in 2020. He has 33 points in 36 games this season.
