Flyers forward should be considered for the Calder

If there is one player on the Flyers roster that deserves the Calder trophy that would fall on Flyers forward Noah Cates. As the season has progressed his stock level has risen fast, especially with head coach John Tortorella.
Torts have put him in numerous situations and trusted him with his defensive abilities along with his point-getting.
The 24-year-old left winger was drafted in the 2017 NHL draft in the fifth round, 137th overall. He has played 56 games and scored eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points. he currently stands at a +6.

Another aspect of him that many people like is the fact that he has a nonstop drive and work ethic. He has a strong attention to detail and he's always trying to make his game better and to show management that he deserves to stay on this roster for the long haul.
That was mentioned earlier, John Tortorella has high praise for Cates and has a very strong trust in him and places him anywhere.
Unfortunately, there's a good chance that he won't be the winner of this trophy. Overall he is by far the most improved player with the Flyers organization and they can expect him to continue to accelerate and develop for many years to come.
