After a thrilling overtime victory in Minnesota on Friday night, the Philadelphia Flyers continued their momentum in Winnipeg as they defeated the NHL-leading Jets 2-0. One of the biggest keys to the Flyers victory on Saturday night was goalie Samuel Ersson who shut down one of the NHL's best offenses.

Saturday night saw Ersson record a 35-save shutout, his first shutout since a 1-0 victory against the Detroit Red Wings in December. Ersson has been incredible as of late, winning three of his last five starts. Ersson currently has an 11-5-3 record on the season with a .910 save percentage and three shutouts which is among the top of the league.
With goalie Carter Hart also coming to full strength, the Flyers can really lean on their goalies and have the utmost confidence in them to come up in big moments. Prime example is in Minnesota, Hart came up clutch in overtime and then in the previous game against Montreal, Ersson came up big in the shootout as the Flyers ride a three game winning streak into next week.

Head coach John Tortorella was especially impressed with the confidince and comfort that Ersson showed in the net on Saturday night against the NHL's top team.
"He looks big. He just looks so confident. He's got a mental presence about himself that you can just feel it. I think it's very important for a hockey team how they play off their goalie and I think he brings that for us.»
