When the Flyers brought in John Tortorella to coach, it was immediately felt they were in need of a breath of fresh air, and somebody who could right the ship.
And while it's still early in the season, it's already shown some of the fruits of Torts labour.
The Flyers lead in Team Goal Differential Above Expected, with an impressive +11.2, the next highest is the Dallas Stars with a +7.9.
But, aside from that, they also lead in Goals Saved Above Expected. Which should make any coach smile, but especially Torts with the goaltending holding the fort early on.
Look for the Flyers to continue the trend, because if not Torts will certainly provide some new sound bytes.
