On December 12 the Nashville Predators snapped the Flyers four game win streak as they defeated them 3-2 in OT. Tonight, the Flyers will have a chance to avenge that loss as they welcome the Predators to the Wells Fargo Center in a matchup of hockey's two hottest teams.

As all Flyers fans know, the team is on an absolute tear. After their incredible overtime win in New Jersey on Tuesday, the Flyers are winners of three straight and have earned points in nine straight games. Sitting at second place in the Metropolitan Division is just an early Christmas present for Flyers fans.
Not to be overlooked, the Nashville Predators are skating with some momentum as well. Not only were they able to stop the Flyers on Dec. 12, but they come into tonight's matchup winning seven of their last ten games. The Preds are coming off of a loss to Vancouver so there is no doubt they will be fired up and ready to redeem themselves tonight.
One key for the Flyers tonight, as it has been all year, is the play of the defensive unit. Surprisingly, the defensive unit has anchored the Flyers all year. After losing over half of their defensemen in the offseason, the 2023 Flyers defensive unit has answered the bell with names that most fans weren't even expecting.

Between Sean Walker being dumped from the Kings and making the most of his opportunity with the Flyers to Rasmus Ristolainen finding comfort and stability in the coaching staff, this defensive unit can get after it.
They're going to need to bring the energy tonight as they face one of the league's top offensive weapons in Filip Forsberg. Forsberg currently leads his team in majority of offensive statistics including points with 36, goals with 16, and assists with 20. Forsberg will definitely be a point of emphasis in the Flyers defensive gameplan.
Alongside the defenseman, Flyers goalie Samuel Ersson will most likely get the start as Carter Hart is still listed on the injury report as day-to-day, but head coach John Tortorella has not made the official announcement as of 11:00 a.m.
With both teams skating with momentum, tonight's matchup should be an exciting one for fans. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
