As Giroux's departure is now certain, the big question still remain: where?

Several teams would be interested in the versatile veteran center as he's got the level to join any team in the league and bring with him his experience, talent, and work ethic. While they are working hard on the rebuild of the team, GM Chuck Fletcher and his staff must be aware of this trade and not make the same mistake Buffalo made when they traded Taylor Hall.
Last season, Hall wanted to leave but used his NMC (No-Move Clause) to end up in Boston whereas Buffalo could have sold him for a higher bidder elsewhere. In this case, Claude Giroux has total control on his next destination because he holds a full no-movement clause. Best case scenario for Flyers is that Pat Brisson Giroux's agent will be talking directly to different teams and be able to put together a shortlist that will be sent over to Chuck Fletcher.
With that happening, Flyers have a few names to work with and not just one team. This will allow Philadelphia to get the best out of this deal and not let go of their star player for cents on the dollar.
While there has not been anything made official yet, Giroux has let GM Fletcher know 3 teams that he would like to be traded to: Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues.
