Flyers president's first act of change A three-headed monster?
Throughout the last few seasons, Flyers Nation has been screaming for change in the construction and makeup of this team as they witnessed past general manager and president of hockey operations Chuck Fletcher turn this lineup into a nightmare.
Trade after trade, signings that didn't make any sense in the long term hurt the team in the future. It seemed like the Flyers weren't going to make the necessary changes to help move this organization forward.
Last week the organization turned the page and decided to hire new president and former Flyers alumnus Keith Jones dropping the interim tags on general manager Danny Briere. Since the hiring, Jones has been collecting his thoughts and beginning to release his vision for the Flyers.
One particular move that raises some eyebrows is the idea of an expanded role for head coach John Tortorella.

Jones decided to give Tortorella an equal say in how the new construction will go with this team and which players could be selected for his roster. As great as it sounds to have him at the table and it does make some sense, it also presents a potential three-headed monster issue that could plague this team soon.
Other teams in the past have attempted a management by committee and have failed to produce results including the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Many years ago, they attempted to have multiple guys running the team and having their say which ended up blowing up in their faces because every man wanted control of the roster.
Danny Briere's young tenure as a GM with handling of this rebuilding phase and being wedged in between two high-profile men certainly will put his character to the test.
