Flyers rival looking to speak to former Maple Leafs general manager.

The management of the Toronto Maple Leafs continues to unravel hour by hour as more information continues to leak out about what happened regarding former general manager Kyle Dubas and the ownership group of Toronto.

It was stated by Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan that Dubas was not going to get a contract extension after an unexpected turn of events from an odd press conference on Monday. A new contract offer was sent back to the Maple Leafs which showed a very different set of numbers and conditions.
According to Elliotte Friedman of the 32 Thoughts podcast, the Pittsburgh Penguins are preparing to reach out to the Maple Leafs to ask permission to speak to Kyle Dubas.

The Penguins have been in a deep search looking for their new general manager and President of hockey operations after firing both Brian Burke and Ron Hextall who held the positions previously.
It's rumoured that Dubas was seeking between 6 and $7,000,000 per season and full autonomy of the team.
There will likely be more with this story as it continues to unfold and drive the Maple Leafs into more uncertainty as critical deadlines approach rapidly.
The Maple Leafs have announced that they have begun their search for Dubas' replacement.
