It was announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins were not making the playoffs for the first time in 16 years and that changes would be coming to the front office. Former Flyers general manager Ron Hextall along with Brian Burke and Chris Pryor were all relieved of their duties after a very short stint that began in 2021.

The speculation has begun to run its course through the NHL and their pundits of who will be the replacements for these executives. Sportsnet insider and 32 thoughts podcaster Elliot Friedman expressed his thoughts on who he felt might be an option for the Penguins.
having Stan Bowman at the helm of the Penguins could make some sense. Having had a history with head coach Mike Sullivan could bolster the idea of him being a candidate.

His career began with the Blackhawks in 2001 as a special assistant to the general manager which he held for Four Seasons. Once he replaced Dale Tallon, He held the reins as the Blackhawks' main executive till 2021.
He was the GM of the team that brought home 3 Stanley Cups in 6 seasons.
