Recently, reports from agents, management, teammates and scouts have labeled Flyers defenceman Ivan Provorov as a locker room cancer.

According to "Flyers Puck Sauce" on Twitter, «Provorov has become a very difficult player to deal with. He's overly sensitive and the reason he wasn't taken off the PP until last night was because of how he'd deal with it.»

Furthermore, in his recent press conference, he threw his teammates under the bus, and did not take accountability. His teammates and management are obviously upset with this. It has also come to light that he and his girlfriend are really into social media and are obsessed with checking for negative comments directed towards Provorov.
«He feels he is being scapegoated by the fans and by media to the point he has called some out in private. He believes he is a top pair Dman and playing like one and doesn't understand why it is perceived otherwise.»

It's already been well documented that the more pressure Provorov puts on himself, the worse he plays and the harder it is to contain his emotions. Progressively his attitude and overall vibe in the locker room is getting worse and worse. It's gotten to a point where he has to wonder if parting ways with Provy is the best for both sides.
With Rasmus Ristolainen signing a new contract with the team, many people are questioning the future of the Flyers' other blueliners.
Insider Darren Dreger tweeted this:
«Some wondering if Risto extension opens the door to a Travis Sanheim trade either before the deadline or in the offseason. He would be pretty high on a few teams' target lists. Left shot, $4.675 million cap hit through next season.»

I wonder if this is not only a sign for Sanheim but Provorov too. He's having another down year, his attitude is not great and he isn't playing to first pair standards.
The former first round pick only has 5 goals and 15 assists through 54 games played this season.
