Kieffer Bellows' career has been rather disappointing since he was selected in the first round, 19th overall, in the 2016 entry draft by the New York Islanders. Over his five years in the NHL, he has never played a full season, with a maximum of 45 games.

During his time with the Islanders and the Flyers, Bellows has played 95 games, scored fourteen goals, and provided 14 assists for a total of 28 points, while maintaining a -6 rating. The son of former NHL star Brian Bellows must certainly be disappointed with his time in the league.
After the Flyers released him this offseason, it appears that another team is willing to take a chance on him. The Carolina Hurricanes signed him to a PTO today.
The Hurricanes currently have many players on PTOs, as General Manager Don Waddell is exploring all options to see if any of these players will stand out. Other players on PTOs include Jayden Walbgewachs, Cory Conacher, Brandon Perlini, and defenseman Nathan Beaulieu.
On the other hand, the Flyers have not signed any PTOs at the moment, as they continue to evaluate their talent and the players they have retained over the summer. Training camp begins on September 21st and concludes on September 24th, with their first game scheduled for October 12th.
