If we trust multiple reports since the start of the day, John Tortorella wasn't the number 1 on the Flyers' list. However, Barry Trotz refused the offer that the club made him, so they went after John Tortorella and gave him one.
However, there's one thing that seems to bother a lot of people with the hiring process: the Flyers CEO, Dave Scott, hired an outside agency to provide some help to his GM in order to find the best person possible for the Flyers head coaching job.
It's not the first time that a professional sports organization proceeds as such to hire people. But this method didn't sit well with some people, beginning by former Flyer' Chris Therien. Here's what he wrote on Twitter...
Scott did pretty much everything he could to help his team, and hiring an outside agency was, in my opinion, a good move.
