Former Flyers Defenseman Heading to the Predators
The career of Luke Schenn has been nothing short of intriguing. It all began when he was selected as the 5th overall pick in the 2008 entry draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
At the time, General Manager Brian Burke believed that Schenn's style of play was exactly what the Leafs needed, as the team was undergoing a rebuilding phase.
After a few years with the Leafs, Schenn was traded to the Flyers, where he spent four years and became a key component of their defensive core. During his time with the Flyers, he even had the opportunity to play alongside his brother Brayden.
However, his career took a downward turn after leaving the Flyers, and he embarked on a journey through several NHL teams, including the Kings, Coyotes, Vancouver, and Tampa Bay.

Schenn's career began to regain momentum after winning the Stanley Cup with the Lightning, and he was subsequently traded back to Vancouver during the 2022-2023 season. He garnered attention from the Maple Leafs after an impressive stretch and playoff performance this year.
At 12:01 today, it was announced that Schenn had signed a three-year contract with the Nashville Predators, worth $2.75 million AAV.
Although there was speculation in Toronto that Schenn would be re-signed for a few more years, it seems that the Nashville Predators were able to secure his services with a longer contract and a slightly higher salary.
We extend our best wishes to Luke Schenn as he begins this new chapter of his career in Nashville.
