There's no position more tougher then being a goaltender, especially in todays game. But a former Philadelphia Flyers prospect goaltender Alex Lyon is looking to make the best of this opportunity.
The now 30 year-old goaltender from Baudette Minnesota is currently playing for the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, the AHL affiliate to the Florida Panthers. However the Panthers announced they have called up Lyon from the Checkers. Lyon has played in 24 NHL games with a record of 7-7-3, with a 3.18 g.a.a. and .895 save percentage.
The Panthers have also loaned forward Aleksi Heponiemi to the Checkers. Heponiemi is 23 and was the Panthers 2nd round pick 40th overall in the 2017 NHL draft. Heponiemi has 2 goals and 3 assists in 22 NHL games.
