The remaining unrestricted free agent market for goaltenders isn't exactly ground breaking, other than a few veteran backups or third-stringers. But the Toronto Maple Leafs still appear to be on the hunt for a goaltender, Larry Brooks of the New York Post says that Brian Elliott could be on his way to Toronto.

Toronto Maple Leafs have been all over goalie rumours this offseason which is rather surprising when the team already has Ilya Samsonov, Matt Murray and and Joseph Woll as the future. More or less on Murray which is the goaltender the Leafs would most likely move in a trade.
Brian Elliott, is 38-year-old and will be heading into his 17th season between the pipes, being apart of six different organizations during those years. Tampa Bay has been where the «Moose» has settled down for the past couple seasons, posting a 2.96 GAA with a .900 SV% in 41 games. Elliott has only been able to post a .900 SV% once in his last four seasons.
Going back to the Toronto Maple Leafs situation, they definitely have a lot of goalies; but very few actually have NHL level experience. So, seeing the Leafs be connected to the likes of Carter Hart and Brian Elliott it makes sense. The Leafs projected backup Joseph Woll has a small sample size of games, with 11 career NHL regular season appearances. Matt Murray currently remains in the organization but it's unknown how long that will last due to Toronto's salary cap situation, it's hard to imagine that he'll be suiting up for them in 2023-24 as things stand.

Elsewhere, in Toronto's organization their are four more goalies on an NHL contract (Dennis Hildeby, Artur Akhtyamov, Keith Petruzzelli, and Vyacheslav Peksa), none of whom, have a single minute played in the national hockey league. Only Petruzzelli and Hildeby have played in the AHL.
This makes things more difficult for the Leafs and puts things in perspective that the team may actually need a solid backup for Ilya Samsonov, especially if the Leafs want to remain competitive.
A role in which Elliott could fill and would bring him back to his hometown.
