Former Philadelphia Flyers Assistant Coach To New York?
The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are both searching for new personnel following the dismissal of Gerard Gallant in his second year.
One name suggested as a potential replacement by Elliott Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast is Kris Knoblauch, the former assistant coach of the Flyers and current head coach of the Hartford Wolfpack.
Knoblauch has been coaching in the AHL since his two-year stint with the Flyers ended. He has a talent for building relationships with players and has already established chemistry with some of the current players in New York.

He has also stepped in to fill coaching gaps when both David Quinn and Gerard Gallant were unavailable due to covid protocols.
Knoblauch's achievements speak for themselves, having taken the Hartford Wolfpack to the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs with a team that lacked top-tier prospects. He would make an excellent addition to the team.
Knoblauch was the Otters' coach for all four of those seasons, taking the team as far as the Memorial Cup Final in 2017 and compiling a 216-83-14 record, coaching such luminaries as McDavid,
Adam Pelech,
Alex DeBrincat,
Dylan Strome and
Connor Brown.
I think his record speaks for itself, he deserves a shot at the head coaching gig in New York.
